At Equestrian Training Services, we offer a comprehensive approach aimed at developing the horses mind and body to encourage a harmonious relationship with their partner.
YOUNGSTER TRAINING
Ensuring a horse has the right foundations is paramount to giving the horse the correct start. The goal is to achieve a calm and confident youngster that feels secure, safe and respected with their partner.
HORSE BEHAVIOUR TRAINING
A lot of horse behaviour training starts with understanding the horses mind and how they interact with their peers and their environment, also taking into account the specific personality of the horse. We take an adaptive and open-minded approach to assist both horse and owner reach a mutual understanding for a better relationship.
GROUND TRAINING
Our core belief is that the education of the horse starts from the ground. This is a way of building their confidence as well as their mental and physical strength without the interference. Comprehensive in-hand work is key to a happy ridden horse.
REHABILITATIVE WORK
Rehabilitative work can encompass both physical and mental issues and correct training with supportive therapy is instrumental to optimal recovery. For this type of work, we are happy to work alongside other professions as we believe in taking a unified team approach.
RIDDEN
Ridden work is a natural progression from in-hand ground training. We believe in the classical principles of balance, lightness and harmony whilst developing feel and introducing an academic learning to both horse and rider. For example, lateral work taught to the horse through ground training can be easily transferred to the rider.
CLINICS
We offer a mixture of theory and practical clinics at venues of your choice, with the aim to provide a supportive environment for all to learn together. Clinics will be tailored according to your needs.
LIBERTY
Liberty work highlights the true relationship between horse and rider. It is a combination of trust and understanding and allows complete freedom of expression, a true reflection of the connection of two minds.
PRE PURCHASE INSPECTION
Buying a new Horse is never easy as there are many factors to consider. The vetting process can identify health and soundness issues but it is not the whole story. It is also important to assess the Horses’ past training, temperament and the buyers’ experience and reasons for purchase. It is important to not get too emotional or excited before proper checks are done and an objective opinion can help with this.
For a fee plus travel costs I will accompany you to view a Horse prior to vetting and assist you in asking the right questions and determining suitability. The service will include:
• Discussing your motivation for the purchase.
• Exploring reasons for the sale.
• Assessing the Horses’ experience and training.
• Assessing the Horses’ temperament and behaviour.
• Trial of the Horse
